‘The Kid’

Raw Sheep & Goat Wool, Polystyrene, Ash wood, Steel Frame

I began this piece during my time in Prague after a surreal chance encounter with a goat in a local bar. The goat quickly became a symbol of companionship for me and remains a very important symbol of my time abroad.
Upon my return to Glasgow in February I reconstructed the goat after having to stuff it in a large suitcase to bring it home with me. Inspired by my childhood push toy, I carved the wheels on the lathe and welded the metal frame which it now stands upon.
The goat is life sized and uses real goat’s wool and horns sourced from farmers in Prague and Glasgow.
